Aisle A1, handguns, gets a new CZ this season. The DUTY 4.0 is CZ's next striker-fired 9x19mm, and it arrives as a family of four: C compact, F full-size, and MS versions of each with a manual thumb safety. The frame is fiberglass-reinforced polymer, the serialized part is a modular internal chassis, and the slide is direct-mount optics-ready with fixed sights.
We ship it to dealers in Denton and McAllen, Houma, Lawrence, Bloomington, Akron, Erie and Great Falls, and everywhere between. A buyer in Texas may want the F with 17+1 for the nightstand; one in Montana may prefer the C at 15+1 under a coat. The 4-inch barrel, 7.4-inch length and 5.6-pound SFDA trigger are the same on every model, and the $729 MSRP puts it against the usual service-pistol names.
What is new under the slide is the serial-numbered modular chassis. The serial number lives on the internal chassis, not on the polymer grip, so the grip frame is a part you can change while the gun stays the same gun. Around it CZ put a reworked SFDA striker trigger, rated at 25 ± 4 N (5.6 ± 0.9 lbs) with a 4 mm (0.16 in) reset and 9 ± 1 mm (0.4 ± 0.04 in) of travel, and a slide cut for direct-mount optics. CZ's own photos show it wearing Holosun, Aimpoint and Shield red dots.
The C is the short-grip frame. It stands 135 mm (5.3 in) tall, weighs 770 g (27.2 oz) unloaded and carries 15+1 rounds of 9mm, or 17+1 once the extended floor plate is fitted. Short enough to hide under a shirt, long enough to get every finger on the grip.
There is no external safety on this model. Drop safety comes from the firing pin block, the trigger safety and the drawbar safety, the way most modern striker pistols are set up. If you want a thumb safety lever, the MS version has one.
The CZ DUTY 4.0 C suits anyone who wants a modern optics-ready 9mm with CZ's grip and a trigger that is better than the class average: daily carry, a home-defense gun that also rides along, and new shooters who want one pistol for everything.
Name any licensed dealer in your state at checkout and the pistol ships to them for the background check. Our state overview maps purchase permits, waits, magazine caps and carry rules for every state we ship to, and checkout removes anything your state does not allow before you pay, not after. Where your state caps magazine size, ask your dealer about compliant magazines.
Questions buyers ask: Will checkout tell me if the DUTY 4.0 is allowed in my state? Yes. Items your state does not allow are removed before you pay, and the state overview lists permits, waits, magazine caps and carry rules for each state. How tall is the C compared with the F? The C is 135 mm tall and holds 15+1; the F is 143 mm tall and holds 17+1. Overall length, width and barrel are identical. Does the CZ DUTY 4.0 C take CZ P-10 magazines? CZ lists the DUTY with its own 15-round magazine and an extended floor plate for 17+1. P-10 magazine fit is not confirmed, so plan on DUTY magazines.
